The Printroom at Walford Mill

A unique space in the heart of Wimborne. The Printroom at Walford Mill is located on the edge of the historical market town of Wimborne Minster.

This eighteenth century building houses many makers and artists and now a fully operating print facility.

The Printroom at Walford Mill offers educational workshops, open access in various printmaking techniques and professional services for editioning, design and equipment rental.

Meet the tutors

  • Donna Peters

    Owner/Director

    Donna Jean Peters is a printmaker, artist and educator from Maryland, USA. Donna came to the UK to undertake a BA (Hons) in Fine Art, after which she also completed an MA in Illustration. 

Donna teaches printmaking, art and design at both Higher and Further Education levels.

  • Preeti Sood

    Tutor

    Preeti is an Indian artist/printmaker and researcher currently living and working in Southern England. She has a BFA in Printmaking from Chandigarh College of Arts and an MFA in Printmaking from Santiniketan, West Bengal. Sood also has a MA in Printmaking from Camberwell, UAL. Preeti has exhibited internationally: New York, Austin, San Francisco, China,  Spain, Poland, Japan, Arizona, Sydney, Singapore, London, Delhi, and Canada.

  • Madalina Voicu

    Tutor

    Madalina Voicu is a maker from Romania. Madalina came to Bournemouth, UK to undertake a BA in Architecture. Following that she went on to complete an MA in Architecture as well.

    Madalina enjoys making of all forms; from modelmaking, analogue and digital, to printmaking, and even some experiments with textiles. One of the most enjoyable forms of making is bookbinding, as it a cumulation of all of the above.

  • Cyanotype Printing

    Come and explore found objects and images through the process of Cyanotype. On this one day course you will be able to collect found materials such as foliage, flowers, wood, etc surrounding the wonderful grounds of Walford Mill. You will also be able to bring photos on a usb stick and expose these images using uv light and the cyanotype process.

  • Exploring Lines Through Etching

    Intaglio is a family of printmaking techniques in which the image is incised into a surface, ink is applied to the surface and then rubbed with tarlatan cloth to remove most of the excess.

For all your Editioning needs

The Printroom offers an Editioning service for artists, designers and makers looking to reproduce their artwork. We will work closely with the artist bringing a wealth of knowledge and skill to the collaboration, enabling the artist to realise their vision

The Printroom Studio offers Open Access every Friday from 10:00 am – 16:00 pm. 
Open Access is provision of studio space + technician, allowing full access to printmaking equipment, for capable individuals who are able to work independently.
