Please join the PRINTROOM studio in delivering Drypoint classes with tutor Preeti Sood.

Drypoint is an intaglio process where ink is incised into the plate or lines that have been created with an etching needle. This process is very similar to etching but much safer as there is no acid bath involved.

You will learn how to create a matrix (plate) using aluminium or plastic to transfer your drawing or mark making through an etching needle. Once the plate has been completed you will learn inking, multiple colour registration using the etching press and chine colle, a process of adding colour using coloured tissue paper to your print.

A4 Cartridge paper (150 – 300gsm) 
Basic drawing materials 
Pencil 
Eraser 
Sharpener 

The image you can bring is either a photographic image, or your own hand drawn image. 

Plates will be provided.
