Introduction to screen-printing is a short course that will deliver an exciting exploration through stencilling both paper and photographic technique. Learn to develop your understanding of the Screen-printing process and developing a small portfolio of colourful artworks. This course will allow you to use the studio on open access days to work independently.
Individuals are encouraged to explore their own ideas. By making use of various approaches from simple paper stencils, to computer based photo stencils.
Understanding which stencil making techniques are suitable for different effects/textures/images
Gain confidence in setting up the screen, using the squeegee and hands-on experience of the studio’s screen printing equipment.
Learn about the possibilities available through colour mixing, use of transparency and the overlaying of transparent or opaque layers.

Screen Printing For Beginners

Screen-printing for beginners will introduce the basics of screen-printing. Starting with paper stencils progressing to simple photographic stencils. This course is for beginners and those who want to refresh their screen-printing skills. Also, for those who want to use the workshop on an ‘Open Access’
basis afterwards.

This course is suitable for more experienced screen printers who want to explore photographic imagery using halftone (bitmapping) , hard edged graphic designs, painted marks, drawn marks, scanned drawings, and more. This course will allow you to work independently on an open access basis afterwards.
