Come and join our visiting tutor Preeti Sood for a one day intensive workshop for a one of kind experience with an established printmaker and artist.
Tetra Pak printing allows considerable freedom in the approach to image making and is considered to be a highly versatile, experimental, and eco-friendly process. Using recycled Tetra Pak cartons as printing plates, students will explore an accessible form of intaglio printmaking that encourages both technical development and creative experimentation. Participants can choose to work with drawn, incised, embossed, or textured surfaces, combining line, tone, and pattern to produce rich and expressive imagery.
Throughout the process, students will investigate both positive and negative image making, layering techniques, and the relationship between pressure, ink, and surface. The method lends itself to spontaneous mark making and encourages playful exploration through hand printing techniques. Students will gain experience in preparing plates, inking, wiping, and printing, while developing an understanding of composition, texture, and the unique qualities of printed multiples.
As an environmentally conscious process that repurposes everyday materials, Tetra Pak printing also introduces sustainable approaches to contemporary printmaking practice. The workshop supports experimentation, problem solving, and personal visual language, making it suitable for both beginners and those wishing to expand their printmaking skills in a creative and supportive studio environment.
Monoprinting is a technique and can be done by using presses or without depending on your individual work. For this process, you will need to bring your ideas any specific materials that you are interested in seeing as a 2D print and paper.
